Born of inspiration from the Colorado Mountains,
ThreeDee Tech is a dream come true for a couple artists that wish to convey this incredible beauty and grandeur through a variety of products marrying old world themes and woodworking with contemporary use of 3D printers, laser cutters and desktop CNC.
Of particular interest is the use of the “lithophane” in our efforts. A lithophane is a concept from the late 1800’s where translucent, sculpted paper or ceramic artwork was hung in windows to get a backlit, three dimensional effect as the sun poured through. Fast forward a couple centuries and we now create these lithophanes with real 3D textures to make the artwork actually pop out of the frame.
Many of our products start with this lithophane, but are framed with a variety of metals, like copper, bronze and steel, and exotic woods: walnut, maple, cherry… and even “Blue Stain Pine.” They are made with an eye to detail and quality, and will place well among your most prized possessions and decor.
Please take a tour of our efforts. Thanks for stopping by.
